Roger, I wish I could feel comfortable chatting with you in person as i'm not one to hide behind an email however I know that is impossible. I've been in the industry longer than you and have seen many changes. I find that Scottrade is in dire need of new technology, an immediate elimination of Regional Managers who visit the branch once per quarter for no other reason than to buy lunch. ( Not needed) the visits serve no purpose, they don't produce any revenue for Scottrade and create negative energy in the branches. Yes i'm producing...Trading in the branch should be eliminated immediately as it's a time waster, all trades should be done online or install a branch phone w/ direct access to the service/trading line. This will free up time for producers to produce. The current scare tactics being imposed on IC's because of a bad quarter or two is totally against the way you built this company. Scottrade is no longer an employee friendly place to work it's as bad if not worse than the other firms, TD, Fidelity, Schwab the only major difference is compensation. You are getting top quality talent for minimal wages(guess that's why your so rich...and that's good for you you deserve it however you need to remember who brings you to the dance...it's the branch field sales staff. Once you lose this group who will you hire next? You're a very smart business man however if you're looking to have Scottrade remain a viable long term business employees must come first. A bad quarter or two, job security threats, not the Scottrade way..please stop this as much of the QD system is luck based or time based ie I worked my butt off last quarter doing all the correct behaviors and the QD's came in a quarter or two down the road. You don't fire these folks, you reward them with comp to make them stay and feed their families. I've so much more to say and thank you for your time and the great company you've built however please don't let it go the way of our competitors. You can still do this and put employees first.
