I have been working at Scripps Networks Interactive full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Family atmosphere, work-life balance unlike other large media companies, company true to brands.

    Cons

Recent cost cutting across industry has come to SNI. Although expected, transparency has been absent and no concrete strategy detailed to the employees. Morale is lower for employees that are still at SNI than for those who were recently let go. Those let go are in many cases relieved.

There is a senior level land grab and nasty politicking going on now. Quite appalling that SNI has so many disrespectful, self-centered high level execs who have horrible management skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mr. Lowe, Mr. NeCastro and Mr. Jablin should lock themselves in a room with all EVPs, tell them they have one chance to clear the air with each other, and set forth a company strategy. Don't leave the room until everyone is agreement. Without something akin to this, alliances will continue to grow and the problems will deepen.
