I have been working at Search Influence full-time (More than 3 years)
I've been here for over three years so I've experienced a lot of the good things over the years - Health plan is good: Company covers some and it is pretty rich in benefits. - The work is good: I'm driven by learning new things, and this agency and industry provide that. You do have to be able to roll with the punches and learn quickly to succeed here, but that is typical in both an agency setting and internet marketing. - Good people: Really good! I see these people 40+ hours a week and still want to hang out with them on the weekends. - Smart people: While this could also fit under good people, it's important to note that SI hires really smart people that do awesome stuff in and outside of work. Having conversations with people in the work place or at the quarterly team building events, you realize you work with some unique and very intelligent individuals. - Team building events: Every quarter we do a team building event. Gets everyone out of the office and hanging out together. Events in the past included bouncy houses, crawfish boils, field days, bowling. - Training: I hinted at this above but you learn - a lot! SI will actually formally train you on the most up to date SEO tactics and then as you continue to grow here and ask (and earn) for responsibility - you get it! If you can do the work, management won't hold you back! - Transparency: As someone who's really grown in this company (started at entry level and now in middle management) my managers and the CEO and COO have always been readily available and willing to answer any questions. My manager's have always been open with me about my capabilities within the company and how I can continue improve alongside what I'm doing well. In that vein there is a well structured review format and weekly meetings with your managers so that you always know how you are performing, and there is always a space to ask questions. Overall, I get inspired at work and not a lot of people can say that about their jobs. Everyday I get to work with an amazing team, help a bunch of small businesses (it's the best when they call and thank you for making their annual revenue skyrocket), and constantly be learning something new.
- High amount of work: I'm listing this as a con because it can be a challenge, but I am actually grateful for it - There is a lot of work to do. If you want a job where you play solitaire all day, this is not for you. If you enjoy working on multiple projects and clients at once and need that push - then the heavy workload can be a really good thing.
