I have been working at Sears full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Certain amount of autonomy - due to sheer size of organization. Many good, talented people sprinkled across various locations. Has the potential to regain status as a major player in retail.

    Cons

The wrong people are being retained and are moving up the ladder. Frequent leadership upheavals and too many leaders trying to change the company and leave their mark. Pervasive lack of trust and culture of sycophancy and back biting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in hiring the right people and in upkeep of stores. See what is working for the successful retailers and not get hung up on any one strategy. you get what you pay for.
