    Pros

    Working with a flat rate and commission, you choose your level of pay based on your effort. If you choose to exert effort, you will get monetarily rewarded.

    Cons

    Because of the heavy competition for higher commission pay, employees are always fighting about who gets the next work order, which sometimes leads to bad conduct with employees taking work orders and hiding them until they can get to them so they can get the commission. Usually, the higher level workers will pawn off the low-paying work on the newer workers, even when the new employees are just as qualified to do the service

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep an eye on employee conduct. While work gets done eventually, it happens in a dishonest way, and is likely why the auto center has such high turnover. Notice when an employee is trying to "hog" work and take action, even if he/she has seniority over peers.
