I worked at Sears part-time (more than 3 years)

The training is endless, in a good way. Management can assist you, and mostly will. While your time is the company's time, you are responsible for your sales goals; a little diligence can make this the easiest "hard job" you could ever want.

What was an excellent training system has devolved into an endless repetition of the features and benefits cards any customer can read on the appliances. Managers are stretched to the breaking point because of budget restrictions (hours) and don't always have time for hands-on training. The two greatest keys to success are: learning from the "old pros"; and digging deeper into the information resources you have at hand.
