I worked at Sears part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Extra $2.00 for every credit apps you make, diversity

    Cons

Strict on rewards and credit apps, too much multitasking, too competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HORRIBLE experience! The managers favors certain coworkers and only give hours to the employees who makes the most credit apps. If you only make a few, you only get 9 hrs a week. Really? It wasn't fair because the coworkers who were put into areas where there are barely any customers had a smaller chance of signing customers up for sear's credit card and reward program. You are always required to sign customers up for sears reward program and credit card. If customer's don't want it, it counts against you and you are in the red zone and your hours get cut off BAD. They are too strict on that. Plus sears had too much responsibilities for coworkers to do. They work you like crazy! You have to ring up customers and answer phone calls at the same time, return items, do layaways, deal with credit cards (if the customer's card is not working you have to call the sears credit card center and solve it), deal with the rewards program (again phone call if there's a problem), kidvantage (phone call again), put returned or unwanted items away, etc! Everything was so unorganized. I don't recommend working here at all. They pay wasn't even worth doing all these duties.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
