Hospice is a wonderul place to work. The sense of team is very important and communication among team members was really great. Not being tied to an office was excellent. Decent benefits and lots of vacation time. Bonus days each quarter for not calling out.
The expectation that you would work 24/7. No work/life balance. Horrible software that made documentation take much longer. Corporate culture -- would get all kinds of emails about productivity and bottom line stuff, too many email about policies that no one would possibly have time to read, e.g. "review policy 2678A for changes made".... An expectation that team members would drop everything and go running to assist with continuous care being provided to suck up to an ALF for a patient who didn't qualify for continuous care (think that's called inducement). Lots of turnover. Management moving nurses around to such an extend that a patient might have several case managers before they die.
Advice to Management
No point. They don't give a rats a**.
