    I worked at ServiceMaster

The people I worked with were great. I really enjoyed the atmosphere there and made a lot of friends within my work group.

As an IT employee, the recent decision to outsource IT functions to IBM left me completely out in the cold. Although I was selected to stay on, I chose to leave based on the lack of advancement opportunities for IT personnel that would exist in a company with no IT functions of their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Technology is a vital part of succeeding in the business world today, and your decision to let another company handle such a vital part of your business comes off as you throwing your hands up after failing to make the Fast Forward initiative work. If you didn't think that your IT functions were performing as they should, perhaps removing the management personnel that were providing the wrong direction would have been a better course of action than replacing the people that were just doing their jobs with another set of people that will have to follow the same directionless leadership.
