I worked at Six Flags part-time

    Pros

Free admission to the park with a buddy and complimentary tickets were included with the job. You meet all sorts of people, including lots of adorable and excited kids. Sometimes you get to ride the roller coaster you work at in a "test run." The Park also organizes Ride Nights, when you can visit the park after hours with fellow employees. The kids who work there (most in high school and college) are nice and fun to be around. Sometimes, you will get guest compliments, and you receive a special gold pin for that. Best of all, you learn how to operate roller coasters, which is a ton of fun and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It's a good job for kids in school, because it doesn't have to be a year-round commitment.

    Cons

You are likely to get yelled at by a guest once every day or two, even when you are being kind and trying your very best. You will be cursed at, and you need to take that in stride. The hours can be long - sometimes I worked from 9:30am to 9:00pm and had only one 45-minute break at noon. The work is also very physically demanding and tiring, especially if your team is understaffed. Multitasking is a must - you may be responsible for checking lap bars, placing guests' bags and water bottles in bins before they ride, and signing and aiding those with EAP passes, all at the same time. You are also required to purchase your own uniform. Getting time off is very difficult, and you will need to find coworkers to trade hours with you.
