The base salary, benefits and company vehicle are good. The regional offices are small and the company is lacking much fat or extra layers of management. The financial backing for the company is strong.
Do not join this company if you are experienced and over 40 years of age. The income will not be there and the opportunities to grow are going to the younger faster contingent. For the younger smarter guys don't waste your time it's a backwater. Performance is poorly measured while salary increases are non-existant (even when the company posts record profits), the bonus program is extremely subjective and mysterious. Most of all the individual is not that important to this company.
Advice to Management
Ownership should sell Skyline. The parent company does not have a downstream mentality or a good concept of what distributors do. Ownership continually hampers day to day operations with accounting and forecasting concerns. After a while if the Captain wants to steer his ship into the rocks he is bound to succeed.
