I have been working at SmartFocus full-time (more than an year)

There are still a great many talented people who work here. The salary is not great by any means but pays slightly better than average. You still get a pension, medical benefits etc.

Don't get fooled by anyone writing a positive review for this company. Since I have been here there have been a number of leadership changes, the last change is by far the worst. the CEO, a former accountant, runs the company like a spreadsheet, cutting cost in order to reach a profit (since sales isn't kicking into gear yet). Another such individual SVP was hired to run Professional Services, Pre-Sales, Support etc, and does the majority of the CEO's bidding. Both of these guys run a very tight ship on cost and expect employees to work all sorts of hours weekdays & weekends. It's no surprise that they are both from a financial background and run this company like a financial institution.

Bonuses are very rarely paid out to non sales staff and commission for sales guys have high/impossible targets. No one is allowed to have fun and you can certainly not expect any investment in the employees. A lot of dead wood was axed when the CEO/SVP joined which was positively received; but along with this was a lot of talented people were also axed as they were on high wages (cost cutting exercise), since then there has been a revolving door of new employees being hired (with false promises) and existing staff just fed up with being over-worked! Expect to do the job of at least 3 people (as I do currently). There is no fun working for these guys and if you do decide to join, take some mortgage/payment protection out as you will need it. These guys are ruthless at getting rid of people and care very little for the employees. I wrote this at risk of potentially losing my own role but sometimes I wonder if that's a blessing in disguise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is an email marketing company not a financial institution, you should run it as such rather than destroying employee morale and setting impossible targets. You will find you have very few people left in this organisation.
