    I worked at SmartSource as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    Pay is good, or rather their contracted pay is good.

    Cons

    I can confirm that they will not pay you your expenses unless you threaten them with a lawsuit. They want to bug you for your receipts however. They state in their agreement that they will not pay you if you fail to fulfill the agreed contracted period. It is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act not to pay employees for their hours worked. Also, under the FLSA you cannot waive pay by contract or otherwise and they cannot assess fines. Nevertheless, the contract specifically says that it is NOT a contract but an "at will" employment notification. I probably will never hear from them again because I threatened to sue for my unpaid expenses. They paid after that.

    Provide an actual contract. Pay as agreed.
