I have been working at Smith's Food & Drug full-time (more than 3 years)Pros
Co-workers - Most of the your co-workers at Smiths are pretty legit. Cool people with cool personalities.
Hard work - This could sound like a con, but if your willing to give it your all and work hard and fast, then you'd be perfect for this job.
Customer service - If your looking for a job with customer service then this is definitely the job for you, the company's main goal is providing customer service....cept you'll learn within a couple years that district managers think other things are more important that customer service.Cons
District managers - All of the district managers are a pain. Any time they come in, they'll find something that's wrong with your department, even if it's sparkling and looking hot to trot, they'll point out the tiniest detail and make you feel like you didn't do enough for your department.
Pay - The pay isn't horrible compared to other grocery stores, but if your a really hard work and working your but off, you'll realize the pay just isn't worth it.
Management - One thing I've noticed with Smith's is that is notorious for non communication. I honestly can't see another grocery store being as bad as communication as Smith's is. Store directors can be a problem, but my store seems to have decent directors, however the communication is still awful.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Management as in store directors....you guys gotta come up with a whole new game plan on how your treat your employees and honestly, if someone is kicking butt in their department and you know it, don't go the extra mile to point out one tiny error in their department, it's just going to be a waste of your time.RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEO
