I have been working at Sotera Defense Solutions

    Pros

Compensation is competitive, but not more than other companies in the industry. They will negotiate.

    They pay every 2 weeks.

Benefits are decent, except they are somewhat stingy with PTO and you don't get many holidays.

HR is very responsive whenever I have needed something.

If your manager is chill, you might get away with ignoring some of the rules in the massive handbook and be able to work a more flexible schedule. But this depends on your contract.

Employees seem friendly, but some freeze you out after you get hired.

    Cons

There seems to be no company culture or career path for advancement. As a contractor, I don't work with anyone else from the company and have little interaction with them.

Don't see a lot of opportunities for training.

High-pressure sales tactics to get you to accept the offer.

Ridiculous rules. According to the handbook, you can never wear jeans at the company building even on casual Friday. When filling out your timesheet, you have to account for every 5-7 minutes of your time according to some chart. This can be be a pain in the butt.

The company seems to enjoy scheduling uncompensated (aka, you do not get paid for your time) events during the work day and then is shocked when no one attends. Sorry, I'm going to use what little PTO I have to spend the holidays with my family instead of attending the company party. You also have the "option" of spending your PTO to attend an optional company meeting, which is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

    Doesn't Recommend
