I worked at Source Interlink as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Due to their lack of understanding of my division, we were mostly left alone. Sold my division to rival who better understands the market.

    Cons

Shrinking budgets. Blanket policy changes, rolled out without forethought. Lack of accountability in far-off departments that effect day-to-day operations like, accounting and distribution. Big picture thinking seems to be limited to how to patch the holes in the sinking ship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a real plan for growth. Your products aren't the thing that needs shortchanging or you just have a cheaper product that nobody wants. Demand accountability from your bureaucrats.
