I worked at Speedway LLC part-time (less than a year)Pros
I loved having the daily regulars who would come in. After a while, you start to learn what they usually buy,so you can grab it for them before they even ask (ex; ciggarettes, particular types of coffee, lottery). And you can build very close workplace relationships with them.
You can learn how to do various types of jobs too, like food prep, stock, ciggarette counts, etc. You become very close with the shift you work with. There are opportunities for bonuses and the holiday pay is awesome, they also reimburse college students for books and other fees.Cons
They will work you to death and not even care. There was a lot of favoritism and bashing of the other shifts. When something would go wrong, it seemed that nobody would take ownership and they would just point fingers at eachother. You would be expected to perform miracles when it came to completing the everyday daily tasks, the task for the day in addition to regular job functions. They go through employees very quickly.
As a full time college student, I had other priorities outside of work. They did not care what I had to do outside of work. I would frequently beg to not work so late on the nights I had class in the morning, but I would look at the next weeks schedule to see that it was done once again, which eventually led me to quit.
As for room for advancement, I spoke to them mutiple times about my interest in becoming a shift lead. They then brought a shift lead from another location and the position was filled.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Please work to keep the good employees that you have. I seen way too many great people quit and/or walk out because of how they were being treated.Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEO
