    I have been working at Spencer Gifts part-time (more than an year)


    They'll work with your schedule whenever needed especially if you have a second job.

    You can easily email the district manager and other individuals in upper management if you have any concerns.

    If you show good work ethic you are complimented and often times given extra shifts.


    Unless you get hired at the exact right time your chances of getting a promotion are slim to none.

    Temp workers during certain times of the year take precedence over you in terms of hours unless your'e in management.

    Hours fluctuate from week to week. Some weeks you may get 30 hours and another week you might get as few as 10 hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    When a sales Associate is hired they are generally only promised 10 hours a week. However with the high turnover rate the company has due to the hiring of temps in October through December you are often given more than the standard 10 hours. This creates a great deal of satisfaction for those sales associates that have garnered permanent positions. Permanent sales associate's either need to be offered more hours when hired or they need to be left at the standard 10 hours so at least they know what they're in for.
