    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take advantage of the good workers you have!

I loved this job, when I thought I had a chance of a promotion. We were understaffed, and I was the only associate who not only knew cashier, supplies, and copy center, but I had open availability too. The other associates that were cross trained were in school. The assistant store manager asked me if I would take the full time inventory position, and when I told him I would he said he would take it up with the store manager. They needed someone to do it, and I was the only person in the store that could do it, and do it correctly! The store manager refused to give me the job, even though I was on of the best employees he had. Said he didn't owe me an explanation. But then wanted me to train a new person to take the position. I worked there 9 months, and received employee of the month 5 times. I knew how to run the store, and was always there when he called. I would work 14 days in a row, because of short staff and not even complain. All I wanted was to move up in the company, and I worked my butt off every day I was there. There were days I had to go to the ER because I was really sick. He couldn't find someone to work for me, and I would go to work anyway. I always had his back...and he didn't have mine. You get paid a little bit more than minimum wage, but are expected to work harder than some of the managers. It was time for me to move on to better things, and a job that would be grateful for my hard work!
