    I worked at Starbucks

    Pros

The schedule was flexible and, at least at the particular Starbucks I worked at, they were willing to accommodate whatever hours you could manage. If you ever needed time off, all you had to do was inform the supervisor and find someone to cover for you. It was an exciting place to work, especially if you love coffee and there was always something to do. My superiors and co-workers were always ready to help if I got stuck on something or needed help, I never felt like I was stupid for not knowing something. Another great thing was getting 3 free drinks a day and a free pound of coffee every week.

    Cons

The pay was not great. Where I worked, I got $8.25 an hour. Not a good job if you're trying to support a family or pay your bills, unless you moved up to a management position. It was kind of a lot to take in as well, because you had to remember all the recipes and everything and if you work in a busy store like I did, you had to work FAST. When you work there, you have to learn to work hot bar, cold bar, register, drive-through, AND do a "spin" at least once every shift. A spin is where you clean up the restrooms and the lobby and change the trash bags in every trash can in and out of the store. It was a little tiring. If you don't like coffee, it's not a good job for you, as you have to try samples all the time and keep a "Coffee Passport" of all the blends they sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe start paying your baristas a little bit more and hire a few less employees per store, as it can get crowded back there.
