I have been working at Starwood Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

The size of the company allows for cost effective healthcare. Starwood truly tries to promote from within. Discounted room rates at other properties in the company are substantial and is available to the Friends and Family of Associates. PTO accumulates quickly and you are given fair oppurtunity to use it.

    Cons

There is no consistancy of managment from property to property. Certain company policies are followed as seen fit by upper managment. Some people are targeted if they "don't fit in". Diversity is good but not when certain races are protected and others are not. Executives and Line level staff are treated with more respect and consideration than Middle Managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be a balance of men and women in the properties Management Staff. Stop playing Golf so much and do what is needed to fill our hotel rooms instead.
