I worked at State Farm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a strong work culture, people work as a team, the company is very corporately run, and there is a process for everything.

    Cons

Systems are extremely antiquated, very low potential for career advancement, company has conservative stance on products, pricing is expensive and does not vouch for consumer. It is viewed as a company that is old and slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to ramp up computer systems! Compensation for sales reps need to increase (especially in the SF Bay area), there needs to be more support for customer service reps. If you don't setup a good system, reps find workarounds to make things happen anyway (and usually those workarounds aren't something you want). Too many steps in quoting system.
