I have been working at State Water Resources Control Board full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Work life balance, flexible hours, 30 min lunches, and nice building.

    Cons

Lots of very very tedious work. Be ready to staple, copy, and tape paper all day. Outdated procedures for everything. Lots of special projects that do not make sense. Some of the staff will roll eyes and get irritated when you go to them for questions. No team work, asked a fellow team member to help finish some payments and received a "it can wait until you come back". Management and experience staff will hound you and talk down if you forget small details like, miss-highlighting certain things, calculator tape is too long or not putting zero on top of tape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create smarter ways to attack and finish special projects. Don't sweat the small things. Treat all departments equal.
