I have been working at State of Connecticut full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work for the State of CT Department of Corrections is the range of opportunities there are for you. the benefits are very good and the training is ranked one of the best in the country. The pay is also among the highest.

    Cons

The cons are mandatory overtime, working holidays, and working a back shift. The job is hazardous as you are among some very dangerous inmates.
