    I worked at Sterling Research

    Pros

COO is wonderful. Very professional, fair and intelligent. Good telecommuting policy. Everyone is very friendly and approachable. Customer relations team is strong. Development staff is talented and friendly.

    Cons

Poor health benefits. Lack of experienced leadership, next to the COO and director of Client relations. Sterling is strong Market research company but are utterly clueless when it comes to software development. Their software products were constructed in such a manner that it takes 3x the staff to support then needed. Not to mention the lack of any organization or experience when it comes to hosting, testing and releasing software. I would not recommend anyone interested in a technical position to pursue an opportunity with Sterling. The dev manager runs around with his cut off, he seems strong in the IT world but clueless in terms of development. Any thoughts of advancing your career or learning something useful would be fruitless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire an individual who is experienced in software development from a reputable software company to direct software development.
