Horribly inhumane, disorganized, extremely political, lack of values, no concern for patients, just craving for money.

Former Employee - Primary Care in Fall River, MA

I worked at Steward Health Care System full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very few positives. They pay decently, but not everybody fairly. If you play games, you can get ahead. If you are honest and not cheating the system, you will not be rewarded.

    Cons

This company is chaotic. The leadership is extremely incompetent and has not much background in medicine. The only way they keep their jobs is by playing politics and sucking up to the leadership. The sad thing is that so many people in MA go to Steward's hospitals for healthcare, but they are getting cheated and definitely not the best possible care. Steward's business practices border on illegal, such as forcing patients to stay in the system even when their insurance lets them choose providers, not paying contractors for months, using defective IT that jeopardizes patient safety, etc. It's not a surprise that this company is on the verge of bankruptcy and keeps losing money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let these hospitals get taken over by a decent non-profit organization that has morals and a sense of compassion for the ill. Stop playing politics and risking the lives of your patients.
