    I have been working at Steward Health Care System full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Company is investing in redecorating the inside and outside of the hospital(s).

    Cons

    No raises, poor leadership, no empathy for employees, poor patient care, no investment in staff education, multiple mistakes with pay checks. A drawer full of pay checks over six months were not sent out, because the company was too cheap to pay for postage. Many are paychecks for some employees who also serve the military and are on their tours of duty, and not being sent their paychecks. Mental Health treatment in the ER is alarming, with very young children and psychotic adults placed in one behavioral health hallway. Where is DMH and DPH? Why is this allowed to happen? Sooner or later someone is going to get hurt and it will be a patient. Patients and staff in mental health at risk; nurses complain but nothing happens. Each week it gets worse, is anyone listening? One nurse stated she had been billed twice for her medical coverage because she worked at two hospitals Morton and Norwood. Shift differential errors, with the excuse that we all got moved over to corporate and we are trying to fix it, but we really don't know if we can. Really? Why did the payroll errors happen in the first place and will the pay be retroactive? What do you mean you don't know if this can be corrected? Isn't that stealing? How can your shift differential be cut? Huh.
