As many visiting researchers mention, this place is obscene from the point of view of ressources at hand for the researchers. Weekly student conferences and speaking visitors; on-site purchasing system and 24 cafeteria with very decent service and food choice.
If they are interested in you, they are also likely to hire your significant other with you.
The price of living in Kansas City is very low, especially provided the Institute salary.
Many postdocs are creating their own lab and the predoc/postdoc association is rather active when it comes to organizing professional events.Cons
Stowers is not a very known institution. Unlike Rockfeller, Salk, the name is not made yet, but this is little obstacle unless you want to return to industry, provided that many post-docs are creating their labs after passing by Stowers.
The fact that it is not a studying campus also means that you are rather isolated compared to an academy position in a university.
