    I have been working at SunTrust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good company values. Opportunity for advancement. Very welcoming to women and people of color. SunTrust management is very focused increasing the diversity of the workforce. Excellent benefits. Openminded for a conservative southern bank.

    Cons

    Same revenue goals for all client advisors regardless of region and tenure. Onboarding and training is non-existent for this allegedly high level position. Teammates are often cut-throat, undermining one another and poaching clients from each other. Retail teammates are beaten down and forced to work overtime trying to find referrals for the financial advisors. It is all about the numbers here and some of the goals seem aggressive and arbitrary.

    Advice to Management

    Develop goals particular to each region. The amount of people who qualify for Private Wealth Services differs vastly across the SunTrust footprint, but all client advisors have the same revenue goals. Business Banking figured out very quickly that evaluating solely on New Business Revenue was not good for client service nor employee retention.
