Former Employee - Technical Service Delivery Specialist in Philadelphia, PA

I worked at Sungard Availability Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Apart from the long timers that are totally incapable and down right rude. There are those that capable, decent and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Upper Management at SunGard Availability Services operates in complete and total cronyism and prejudice. People of color are not given a fair shake nor are they respected for their skill sets and demonstrated abilities. While middle management opt to be yes men by ignoring these facts for the fear of losing their jobs and for the desire to be pulled into the good old boys club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing favorites . Stop operating in the good old boys mentality of running things. Stop the sexism. Stop the racism. Stop covering up for (by bushing under the rug), excusing, and minimizing the employees that you know are inadequate. Promotions should be based on ability and delivered results. Promotions should never be based on personal similarities nor whether or not the person is a drinking buddy. Also distribute training equally and fairly among employees. Training should not be based on who you like more. In other words grow up and show fairness. Be better managers by being better people.
