    Pros

    Pays a good living wage.

    Cons

    Poor training Poor tools Poor resources for customer issue research (labs are extremely slow and error prone) Poor morale ...and middle and upper management are OK with all of these as long as they are making investors (not customers) happy. Technical Support personnel are treated as an unfortunate and despised expense by upper management.

    Advice to Management

    Your Technical Support resources make up a large part of your workforce, and nearly better than 80% of your customer's interaction with Symantec. Stop treating them like a consumable, nonrenewable resource. There is a lot of talent and dedication that you could get value from if you would take the time (and expense) to find out what drives them and what they need to thrive, then provide it.
