Former Employee - Intern - Hourly in Houston, TX

I worked at Sysco as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The Environment is somewhat relaxed. No one seemed to mind what time you came in, just so long as your work was done. The offices have lots of natural lighting. No one is leaning over your shoulder to micro manage. Everyone is self-motivated to do their work. Each intern is given a summer project to work on. The goals are very clearly laid out for you. You aren't thrown into the water on your own. You are encouraged to ask questions and pull from the experiences of those around you. Senior management is very accessible. They make time to mentor and teach you. Overall it was a very rewarding experience.

    Cons

The merger left too many things up in the air. It was unclear where i would fit into the new organization
