I worked at TSL Marketing full-time (less than an year)

I was reluctant to consider a work at home job, but they offered a good base salary and really paid out the bonuses. A strong sales background is necessary. You need to put in extra hours to make your goals, and research and add contacts. I liked working from home, and their Vanilla Soft system was easy to use.

For many of the managers, this is their first management experience, and many are now senior management. Many started as telemarketers and TSL was their first job out of college. They don't understand data management, especially when it come to having a multiple ways to sort the same data or the importance of having the records ready at the start of the business day. They need to develop skills to effectively manage more mature and experienced workers, not to mention the remote staff that works from home. Some of the managers have "pets" that have special privileges, like contacting the business partners directly. There are times that the managers of the campaign dropped the ball in contacting the business partner and there was no TSL management back up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wasn't allowed to make up the time if I needed a few hours off in the same week. They didn't have an issue with working all sorts of extra hours--you are salary. But taking a few hours off--you are not allowed to make up the time. You have to take it off as personal time off.
