I worked at Talisman Energy full-time (more than 3 years)Pros
The people who work here work hard and care about their jobs and the leaseholders.Cons
They use contractors (temps) in long term assignments, eliminating any possibility of ever having to hire someone, pay them a competitive wage, or benefits. The company is saddled with bad investments that were made in Europe so there's no way to expand their North American operations. This place is constantly being "reorganized" to try for quick fixes to long term problems. Their accounting system (PAS) is a joke. It might work in a company 1/4 Talisman's size but it's slow, unwieldy, and user unfriendly.
If you enjoy meetings, this is the place for you. There are meetings to plan the next meeting about a meeting.
There's no opportunity for advancement here. Avoid at all costs.Advice to ManagementAdvice
