I worked at Target full-time (more than 5 years)Pros
Store Discount and ability to get the best deals when items go clearance.Cons
They do not give regular hourly staff opportunities to help streamline antiquated outdated processes. I worked there for 7 years and new the ins and outs of so many different areas but they were more than willing to watch me go.
If you work there for years and get your bachelors degree they require you to become a supervisor for at least a year before you can apply to become an store manager ETL. Meanwhile recent grads are getting hired from outside the company. How is that competitive?
No work life balance forget your family around the holidays, forget your friends and nightlife, forget weekends off.
I worked a shift from 3pm to 3am while visibly sick on Christmas Eve.
I had a store manager who actively harassed and fired black men just because he didn't like them and the company just covers it up by offering them a job at another store instead of dealing with the manager.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Actually allow regular employees who are doing the work to have an opportunity to speak their mind. They might surprise you with cost saving ideas. Recognize that the workers are the ones closest to the business and the customers and they should not be so easily cast aside.Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEO
