I worked at Target full-time (More than 10 years)
Pay and benefits are ok. You get a 10% team member discount and every now and then they will have discounts for team members only. Only thing I liked was working with my team members.
Not enough coverage, cashiers, upper management doesn't listen to their team leaders and the correct people are never held accountable. There was never enough coverage for the sales floor and they understafff the cashiers. So when there is a lot of traffic, you have to respond as a backup cashier and as a result you cant get your job done. From a team leader level, I was forced into a department I never wanted, received horrible training, my boss never listened to me, and I was getting written up for other stuff that was not my responsibility so I left.
Advice to Management
Hire more cashiers and sales floor, listen to your team leaders, make it fun, work with your team leaders when there are problems.
