    I worked at Taxware full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    They stress how much it is a learning environment and they do try and push that. Lots of new people, lots of people that try to help.

    Company will very likely make money with the direction it is going in.

    Cons

    Benefits are lower than normal
    Pay is lower for the entry positions but is higher than average for upper positions.

    This is a young corporate company. They aren't sure who they are yet and there is too much movement of the entire structure to have any faith in your future in the company.

    They are in the middle of trying to redefine the company. They have eliminated a lot of experienced people over the last few years. That leaves a lot of gaps in everyone's ability to do anything. When something breaks no one knows what to do. The entry levels are just as responsible for knowing how to fix the issue as the senior people or management. As much as they push the idea that they are into training there is a very quick limit to what they are able to teach.

    This is not the place for a strong personality or the freedom to speak honestly. Do not listen to any of the 'open door' policy they have or when they invite new ideas. Keep an attitude that everything is great and you have no issues. Expect to be fully responsible for anything you work on. Do not expect another dept to offer you any time. Everyone is in a panic situation and is just trying to manage their small piece of responsibility.

    They offer a lot of rope. It is very common for managers to start a meeting and not know how to lead the meeting. They ask how you think the meeting should go. They try and teach concepts for the best way to do things but then don't really use those concepts. You are obligated to offer ideas and then you are left to follow through with them if they are good, but you are on your own.

    If you take a job here, keep looking for the next job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good luck. You are on your own. There is too much that is expected without the skills needed to do the job. Don't have the ability to hang onto good productive employees and don't have enough experienced people to train new people.

    Upper management seems to just have the attitude of eliminate the person that is the cause of the issue. Then expect that the next person will have a magic fix. There seems to be no loyalty or trust among the managers.

    I expect this company will find what they are looking for after grinding through a large number of employees. That will be after years of a bad and toxic work environment.
