I worked at Taylor Business Institute part-time (More than a year)
Family-oriented faculty and administration. Teaching hours for ESL are pretty good considering the poor hours given at other colleges and universities.
Teaching salary is too low for someone holding a graduate degree (or two). Most domestic students are unwilling to do the work inside and outside of class. International students are not there to improve their language skills but instead attend class only to maintain their status. The entire school lacks any kind of technology; has poor internet speed; administrators refuse to invest in a new copier machine (sometimes teachers must make copies elsewhere, outside of school); and the education department and administration do not work well together.
Advice to Management
The school no longer has the feeling of inspiration and intellectual curiosity because it focuses too much on enrollment -that is, join the school because we need you while neglecting education. Mentality needs to change and make the school a place for intellectual nourishment. Also, one person can be assigned to many other tasks simply to save money. If everyone is overworked, the intended quality is extremely poor.
