I worked at Teach for America full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Driven colleagues, collaborative work environment, professional development opportunities, flexible work schedule, flexible location placement, relatively rapid advancement opportunities, excellent benefits.

    Cons

Like corps member placement, staff positions are highly competitive and those lucky enough to earn a position often work long hours, both because their position requires it and the culture demands it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Willingness to stray from the traditional advancement structure (e.g. assistants only being considered for associate or coordinator positions but nothing higher) will be key to maintaining talent.
