Some of the smartest people in the business. You will learn a lot from the veterans that are here. Despite recent market troubles this company will land on its feet. The technology and services offered exceed what is available elsewhere. The company has an excellent Training group that offers many options for new learning or enhancing your skills. Good 401k match and incentive options and benefits package (not the best, but far from the worst). The company is generally very flexible on PTO...including several flexible floating holidays per year (in the USA). The R&D and Product Engineering Teams are among the best to be found anywhere.

Next to no marketing support. and many "old school" senior management that are not exactly open to new ideas or innovative in dealing with current market conditions. Lag behind leaders in the software or platform as a service (cloud) offering providers. Invested heavily in Marketing Applications (Aprimo, etc) but have failed to integrate into mainstream enterprise sales teams and in fact have managed the application business as a separate entity from the core data warehousing and analytics business. This has created intense internal and customer confusion since the company does not operate as "One Teradata". The company has tremendous potential but is currently handicapped by inaction by the senior management team to address the strategy and future direction of the company. .

    Advice to Management

Wake up and either address the situation that our markets and go-to-market strategy need toi change or step down so we can bring in a team that can revitalize this high potential organization. Clinging to old business models and ways of organizing the field teams are obviously not working - consider fewer people and layers of management but geographical territories as afocus. We can do this and succeed - if you will lead!!!
