Former Employee - Project Manager in Hartford, CT
Former Employee - Project Manager in Hartford, CT

I worked at Terracon full-time (more than 3 years)

The work environment is good and fellow employees are all professionals. The benefits are acceptable and the company is very pro-active with regards to safety for its employees.

There is way too much corporate oversight on projects. It is very difficult to manage projects without interference by management. Budgets are completely unrealistic due to national account managers sealing the projects way too low just to get the work. The project managers are in a thank-less position because there is no accountability above or below. Way too much overhead. There is no room for advancement unless you are a PE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let project managers manage and stay out of the way. Let project managers develop their own budgets.
