I have been working at Texas Department of Family and Protective Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This would be a great entry level job if one is looking to get into the social work field and want to gain a little experience or just get their foot in the door with other agencies. Besides experience, the job offers great benefits and opportunities to flex your schedule if need be.

    Cons

The work can get mundane and boring if you don't like sitting in a desk and being on the phone all day. The calls can be stressful. Policy and Procedure can change quickly but not too often. Your co workers and supervisors can be rude all depending on the shift you work. Career experience is limited.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Supervisors can be trained and prepped better for their positions. Upper management should take into account how the supervisors speak and handle staffing matters with their co workers. Workers should feel safe and secure about going to their job and seek additional assistance from supervisors when needed. Continue to offer opportunities for career development, advancement and employee appreciation.
