    I have been working at The Atherton Hotel part-time


    1) Solid pay for the work you do.
    2) If you are busier, typically there are cash incentives (bonuses, commissions, or gratuity)
    3) Flexible work schedule
    4) Willing to cross train
    5) Stable management team
    6) Benefits are available to full-timers (above 35 hours)
    7) Free meals every day


    1) Many inefficiencies
    2) Owner seems conflicted and flip-flops on issues
    3) At times, favoritism or politics
    4) At times, training is lacking
    5) At times, instructions or direction given is contradictory to something previously told
    6) Lack of opportunity to grow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Let managers manage and do their jobs and let employees do theirs. If communication was consistent and clear and policy was uniform, it would resolve many of the minor frustrations within the organization. The owner should not be directly involved with the business as it hinders operations.
