I have been working at The Boston Globe full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

New ownership has showed a commitment to innovation and investment in new products to grow in a dying industry. Good benefits and great coworkers.

    Cons

All non-management positions are union which leads to some workers occupying jobs that would go to more qualified, harder working people in a normal organization. Very poor HR department that offers no onboarding or employee development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication to the staff, we learn the strategy and goals from the media. More focus on employee development. You have many talented people whose skills should be developed.
