I have been working at The Fresh Market full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people (staff), friendly atmosphere

    Cons

Constantly pulled out of my department to cover in another, causing my department to suffer, then questioned by management as to way something is empty or out of stock. Put in for requested time off and almost always denied. Been with the company for 4 years and have been unable to move up and upper management will not discuss why.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to stop adjusting work hours week to week and look at it on a quarterly basis. TFM needs to get into the mainstream of being a public company and stop running things as if it is a small business that is privately owned. TFM needs to up their compensation level or else lose all the good employees they have been able to retain. Publics, Food Lion, BI-LO and Lowes Foods all pay more and with less stress and drama. Bottom line is TFM needs to get with the time in regards to everything. From the computer systems, to taking inventory every month, to proper pay compensation. Stop being in the 80"s and get with the times.
