I have been working at The Fresh Market full-time for more than a year

    Pros

THERE ARE NO PROS TO WORKING HERE

    Cons

This company lacks integrity. Working here is like going back in time when employees were treated like slaves (really). Most of the management lie, manipulate (co-workers, inventory, etc.) and coerce using belittling tactics and threats of (or actual) work hour reduction, even though the company states they do not allow this. In fact, they tacitly encourage this behavior.

Employee abuse is rampant. Moral is unbelievably low. Family life almost non-existent. Turnover, sky-high.

In South-East Florida, management is mostly Hispanic (Cuban), including the department specialists. All are corrupt, and it wouldn't be far off to say that a Latin clique runs the greater Miami market. Most of these people come from "value"chains like Winn-Dixie, Sedano's (or worst, Pantry Pride and Okie Dokie!), and act accordingly.

Pay is sub-standard, there are no bonuses - even though the company says they give them, and no performance reviews - which are required after 90 days in order to get a pay raise. This CHEAP company is one hair away form a class-action law suit, and is without a doubt, the worst employment experience one could ever have.

If it weren't for the initial market cap, store openings, and the 'hocus-pocus' of forward earnings, the stock price would be in the basement, and it is definitely not "best of breed" (ask Mad Money's Jim Cramer). This company has NO CLASS whatsoever, and their recruits reflect this. With Publix, Whole Foods, Traders Joes and Sprouts expanding, its shelf life is dwindling fast.

Stay away from here. Absolutely no one deserves this kind of abuse. This company lack integrity at the senior level.
