Former Employee - Merchandise Execution Associate in Buford, GA

I worked at The Home Depot full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, Friendly People, Full 40 hours for full-timers

    Cons

No pay differential for night time work. Rigid structure of pay raises and hours (MET Team).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some more flexibility to managers for pay increases, I worked for MET and handled many of the more difficult and "skilled" projects, but received the exact same pay as those who simply did general service, which while very boring is not even close to requiring skills. I already made my recommendations to management about creating new positions for who do projects versus those who do general service, but I'm sure it just ended up in the trash, with many other suggestions. I actually didn't mind the work I did as night MET, but I found it inexcusable to not offer any pay differential to those who worked the night shift and completed the projects, so I found a new job.
P.S. You could make it a little easier to transition from MET to Store positions for those that are interested, rather than treating it as a separate company.
