I worked at The Management Trust full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Recommend other divisions if interested in this company or field.
Decent office location; can be an OK commute point.
    Near pubic transit options

    Cons

Culture is insular, very immature and extremely negative. Upper management seems entirely checked out and uninterested in company. Rumors, drama, infighting, blaming, perpetual victim attitude is rampant. Speak poorly of each other, of their own clientele on a routine basis from the Upper Executive level management on down. Questionable ethics in terms of client support.

Pay for anyone but upper management entrenched (and now "vested" in the new "employee owned" terms) is very poor and below industry standard. Pay is wildly uneven between Association Managers, with no reward for excellent service and no consequence for incompetent service. Internal systems have massive gaps and holes in maintaining accurate records for clients.

Turn over is very high. Very high level of zero experience hires straight into management. Lax to non-existent training.

No attention to detail or basic skills. Internal company meetings routinely have presentations riddled with spelling errors, poor grammar and mistakes.

Constant state of crisis over being "overwhelmed", "overworked", things will improve "once they settle down" or "once they hire a good manager" is the consistent rally cry. Has been ongoing for year(s) with little to no improvement.

Do not fire detrimental employees. Those known to never report to office for shift, those who play favorites and receive possible kick backs from outside vendors. Those that speak rudely to clients. Those with extraordinarily high number of client complaints. Those that openly express racist, sexist and other views about co-workers and clients. Those with active and obvious substance abuse problems. Those that violate Association Governing Documents out of internal co-worker spite are all still employed and consistently defended by management as employees they cherish and appreciate.

Strong rumors and evidence Company as a whole is not financially sound since ESOP transfer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove entrenched leadership. Spend less time singing the praises of ESOP or coming up with new mottoes and tag lines. Only use outside recruiters or high performing internal employees from separate divisions to hire.
Start managing and monitoring employees actual work product. Enforce company standards equally. Require regular attendance.
