I have been working at The New England Center for Children

    Pros

The kids, while challenging, are amazing.
If you are interested in ABA, NECC is a great place to work. They are a cornerstone for ABA and ACE development and a leader in the field. A very reputable company (yes it is a company)
I personally love the hours. The hours are very random, not 9-5. You will work either a Saturday or Sunday when you start. This leads to flexibility in shift switches and getting long weekends when needed.
4 or 5 weeks vacation depending on if you are a L1 or L2 teacher

    Cons

The management is absolutely unbearable. Everyone is very highstrung. They are not interested in employee development. There are too many employees for this. Instead, they simply need bodies to fill work number quotas. If you are injured on shift, don't expect them to care. Instead they will blame you to save themselves. They truly care more about their own reputations than doing anything to benefit you as an employee. The workplace is oddly competitive for a nonprofit school. I feel like they hire anyone. I turned down a very good job to work here and am disappointed I did. It is a very toxic work environment that takes advantage of out of college grads. Proceed with caution. When working with this population the last thing you should need to worry about is the horrible management but unfortunately I've found this to be the case.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest time in your employees. Be honest with them. Coordinators and specialists need more training on how to positively interact with their subordinates
