I have been working at The North Face full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong company in the outdoor field. Great product and constant innovation to stay on top. Good benefits for the outdoor enthusiast -8 hrs paid volunteer time per year, reimbursement for outdoor activities each year, great product discount, bonuses when monthly sales goals are met/exceeded. Fun & productive working environment driven by store management and corp management. Low pressure sales and training development programs to guide sales associate success. Retail schedule flexibility.

    Cons

Retail schedule - busy every holiday
    Annual review process
Antiquated technologies driving core business components - Inv. control, POS platform

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would love to see Part time healthcare opportunities. More current / better technologies in place to support store teams and sales associates in selling, training, inventory. If pay scale were to increase better chances of retaining quality employees. Annual review process and merit increase process is dated 2% is okay performance 3% is almost impossible to attain. Would enjoy a 6 month merit review and 360 review process to give management better feedback from employees. Corp communication is not always as clear as it could be or effectively communicated to management and store teams.
